Squadron COVID-19 Regulations The squadron has undergone extreme planning and preparation to ensure the safety of all cadets and staff.
Guidelines for all In-person activities - Cadets must wear a non-medical mask (NMM) at all times during all in-person cadet activities (unless they are actively eating or drinking) o Cadets are all issued two masks by the squadron but may use whatever NMM they please as long as it is a solid fabric covering their mouth and nose. o The squadron also has blue NMM available if a cadet requires a mask, or has soiled the mask they came to the activity - Cadets are to maintain social distancing guidelines, keeping 2 meters space between any other cadets. - Frequent hand washing and hand sanitizing - Sanitizing squadron equipment after use Difference in Activities - There will be no familiarization flying or glider flying this training year - There will be no travel provided by the squadron o All activities are to take place within an hour drive from the squadron head quarters at CPAC - No overnight activities o Day activities only o Parents are expected to drop off their cadet at the beginning of the activity and pick up at the end of the day. - Limited strenuous physical activities o To reduce the potential for spreading.
All squadron activities have been individually planned and reviewed and approved by the Commanding Officer of the Regional Cadet Support Unit (RCSU) in order to move forward. We are restricted by what activities are improved, as the safety of cadets and staff is of the utmost importance. Supplementing with Virtual We are continuing some activities virtually including: - Ground school o Where cadets learn the basics of aviation and navigation o Intended for those who are interested in getting their pilots license through the cadet program - Effective Speaking o Teaching the element of speech, impromptu speech telling and speech writing. o The cadets get hands-on experience of speaking in front of their peers
Please Note: If cadets are in the same cohort at school, or in their personal family bubbles outside of cadets, social distancing is still mandatory during the in-person cadets activities
