The Royal Canadian Air Cadet Program offers a nationally recognized program to all youths aged
12 - 18. The Royal Canadian Air Cadet Program has 3 aims:
  • To develop in youth the attributes of Good Citizenship and Leadership;
  • To promote Physical Fitness; and,
  • To stimulate an interest in the Air Activities of the Canadian Armed Forces.
As such, Royal Canadian Air Cadets participate in a variety of fun and challenging activities that include;
  • Public Speaking and Instructional Techniques;
  • Field Training Exercise/Camping Skills;
  • Physical Fitness (in both individual skills and team sports);
  • Air Rifle Marksmanship;
  • Marching Drill Team & Marching Band;
  • Aviation Ground School; and
  • Flying Gliders and Powered Aircraft.

Most importantly, Air Cadets aids in developing knowledge of Canadian history and democracy. The cadet program focuses on social development, decision-making, and leadership. As cadets acquire skills and knowledge, they pass it along to younger generations.

848 Royal Roads Air Cadets has proudly upheld the mandate and traditions of this fantastic program for over 40 years. With approximately 75 youths actively involved, 848 Squadron proves that through participation and esprit de corps, youth can accomplish amazing things.

848 Squadron has a dedicated group of Officers, Regular Force Volunteers, Civilian Instructors and Volunteers and Parent Volunteers who are excited to provide this opportunity to all youth in the Victoria/Colwood Area.
